This Saturday night Speakeasy HQ will present an outstanding lineup of acts from Trashdoll Circus!!  Heaving between fire, circus, gypsy, sideshow and shock shows, the team of stunners will trash it up for one and all as the Underground Galaxy of Stars erupts for them!!

But true to fashion, we wanted to know more about the alternative beauties that make up the Trash Circus, so we left a trail of M&M’s all the way from Trash Central to Speakeasy HQ and got lucky as the magnificent Amber Fury strolled on in!  Se we asked her a bunch of questions to see what makes her tick as she prepares for this Saturday night’s show!

Who are you and what led you to becoming a Trash Doll?
I am the fiery Amber Fury and I’m a chameleon as all performers have the ability to be changeable. I am an Actor, Dancer and Circus performer who will mold myself accordingly.

What was the first moment when you thought to yourself… ‘I could go pro at this!!’

I probably thought I was Pro at the age of 7 while my family laughed and clapped while I danced on a table singing along to ‘It’s my party and ill cry if I want to’ wearing my mum’s dress and makeup. Sigh. I’ve always wanted to perform for an audience as well as make interesting art so that passion has driven me to want to go pro, strive to make my creative life and career as one and the same.

What would you like to be remembered for in 100 years time?

I want to be remembered for having substance; standing up for my friends, illustrating that being a little crazy is ok and maybe just consistently being creative.

If you could spend a day with one famous person, from history or now, who would it be and what would you do?

There are way too many incredible and inspiring artists who I would love to meet and hang with but tonight I am going to go with having a picnic with the beautiful, unconventional and eccentric Helena Bonham Carter (Does that mean I get Tim Burton too?) and drinking delicious wine, eating cheese and discussing life and all of its trivialities, mysteries and silliness. I’m hoping the discussion would end in a plan of the 3 of us making a film altogether!

What will the audience see when you perform at Speakeasy HQ?

The audience shall see Amber Fury Strut, Tease and Entice. There will be a variety of costumes to dazzle, playfulness as she dances, intimacy with people in the crowd and flirting with flames with her steamy fire act. There may even be a girl fight.

We can’t wait to see thew strutting of Amber Fury at Speakeasy HQ THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!! Tickets are LIMITED and available at: http://www.trybooking.com/Booking/BookingEventSummary.aspx?eid=87968

Industry Giant – Deadly With the Knife!!

The response to Speakeasy HQ presenting Trash Dolls Circus this Saturday night has been mind blowing!!  With people from all over the country clambering to get a glimpse of the glam, tattoos, pumping and grinding dolls themselves, the show is tipped to be a Speakeasy blockbuster!!!

So today, in this edition of The Speakeasy, we thought we’d take a look at the industry giant who has produced and brought this all together.  We speak of the legendary burlesque artist, producer, dancer and business woman, Miss Lucy La Parr.  With a fan base of her own that would be the envy of any celebrity, Miss La Parr cuts herself apart from the pack by inventing extreme burlesque routines that include up to 100 knives!!  (Trust us – you NEED to see this to believe it!!)

So we thought we’d take this powerhouse of production aside as she polishes the steel and re-laces her corset for this weekend’s show and asked her a whole bunch of questions.

Who are you and what led you to becoming a performer

I’m Lucy La Parr. I love the limelight, I love being creative, I love being in pretty lingerie. So add all that together and burlesque was bound to happen.

You are LOVED by the Speakeasy audience.  But when was the first moment when you thought to yourself… ‘I could go pro at this!!’

The moment I popped out of the womb. I knew I could go pro on life! Why do it normal when you could be the best.

You’re already known as a producer, artist, business woman and so many other amazing things! What would you like to be remembered for in 100 years time?

My legs. I want people to go ‘remember that performer Lucy La Parr…wow she had great legs.

If you could spend a day with one famous person, from history or now, who would it be and what would you do?

My self in the future…Cause I’d be so sparkly famous…but seriously Edie Sedgewick and we’d party like Poor Little Rich Girls.

What will the audience see when you perform at Speakeasy HQ?

I’l be performing two acts, One would be a fire show, the second is a gypsy fortune teller.

We can’t wait to see the breath taking, renowned Lucy La Parr performing at Speakeasy HQ this Saturday night!!  Get your tickets online before they sell out (Seriously – they’re limited and going fast!!) at: http://www.trybooking.com/Booking/BookingEventSummary.aspx?eid=87968

Miss Bo Peep to Stun HQ!

IMG_6434.JPG

On Saturday October 11th Speakeasy HQ will be presenting one of the most audacious acts to ever tread upon its stage, as the Trash Dolls erupt live on stage for ONE NIGHT ONLY!   As we get closer and closer to the night of glamour and attraction we begin taking the stunning Dolls aside one at a time to get to know them a little better, and see what makes them tick.

Today we take aside a starlet whose beautiful voice has been enchanting Melbourne audiences of late, and who tipped for big things in her future!!  We speak of the beautiful Little Bo Peep, who will be singing at Speakeasy HQ and The Blind Tiger on the 11th.  So we took her aside to see what makes her tick as she prepares to sing up a storm!

Who are you and what led you to becoming a singer?

My name is Bo Peep, I’m 21 and I became a musician when I got to high school and sat at a piano and just naturally picked it up, same with guitar. I watched someone else do it first and then I sat down and did it myself. I’m a self taught musician. Put me in lessons and I’ll get confused as hell. But just throw something at me and I can usually pick it up relatively easily. It was something that I found I was finally good at. I was fairly average at everything else and then I found music and it was something that I could do, and actually do sort of well.

What was the first moment when you thought to yourself… ‘I could go pro at this!!’

I don’t think I ever thought I could be a professional singer until recently. I had a hard time growing up, so I never really considered anything of myself until my music teacher asked me to try out for the school musical, I was involved in it every year since, even learning how to do the makeup and lighting. I just really got into it all for fun and a distraction from real life.  Being up on stage is an amazing feeling.

What would you like to be remembered for in 100 years time?

I’d love to be remembered for my singing and modelling, but I’ll probably be remembered for my giant chest, haha! As long as someone says “hey remember that time when Bo and I…” I’ll be happy.

If you could spend a day with one famous person, from history or now, who would it be and what would you do?

At the moment, probably Miley Cyrus, she’s got some interesting things going on, this answer could change all the time, haha.

What will the audience see when you perform at Speakeasy HQ?

The audience will hear some of my sweet tunes, haha. I’ll be performing a few covers acoustically with my partner, and hopefully everyone loves it and joins in singing with us.
